From sand sculpting competitions to mechanical bull riding, setting sail on Keppel Bay to feasting on fine delights, an array of Australia Day events across the Tropic of Capricorn are set to bring some cheer as we pay respects to the true-blue land, we call home.

Great Australia Day Beach Party – Yeppoon

The Great Australia Day Beach Party is one of the biggest and best family fun days ever staged on the Capricorn Coast. It’s the biggest and most popular ‘family fun’ day of its kind in the region.

This year’s activities include the CQ Today Sand Sculpture Competition, The Capricornian Beach Games, Bare Bottom Boat Regatta, and entertainment for all ages.

There will be a sensational all day stage program featuring national headline acts, bands, dancer, circus performers and more.

The day kicks off from 10am with market stalls, arts and crafts, food and refreshments, street theatre and plenty of kids entertainment, and concludes at 8pm with a bang as the JRT Monster Fireworks Finale lights up the sky.

Aussie Day @ The Rocky Sports Club – Rockhampton

Get ready for a great arvo at The Rocky Sports Club! With raffles, mechanical bull riding and thong throwing competitions, this ripper day will have you laughing at larrikins as they battle it out for championships status and bragging rights.

Great Australian Bites will return to Rockhampton for a jam-packed afternoon of food, music and live entertainment on Wednesday 26 January at Kershaw Gardens.

Pop-up stalls will be serving up tasty dishes from local restaurants and popular food vendors, while home-grown performers take to the stage with a lively music program that is sure to keep the whole family entertained throughout the afternoon. Find out more here.
